This eulogy was sent by fax to be read at Raymond’s funeral,
but unfortunately, received it too late. I take this opportunity to share it.

For Raymond

We met Raymond in Germany in Summer 1996, he was a happy, fun loving and compassionate person, who was always there when you needed him. His extraordinary ability to understand and to get on with others, was unique, as was his humor, his smile and his laugh.

This year we spent a wonderful summer in his home country united in our scout work which always symbolized our togetherness.

We are now left with incredible sense of loss and emptiness. Although we cannot begin to understand why he has left us, we know that he will always live on in our hearts, his wonderful memory will never die.

Thank you Raymond for the lovely time we had together, and thank you for giving us the chance to get to know you. We will be with you in our hearts and minds today……
