I remember taking a trip here as a child, and always vowed I would go back one day. I had forgotten that the speed limit is only 45 mph in the park itself, but that the maximum you will probably end up going is 25 mph because of all there is to see. Makes doing it all in just one day very difficult!
The Old Faithful geyser is one of may hot water geysers in the park, and is the most reliable when it comes to predicting it's eruptions. Here it is at rest. The year we went was the one after they had had a major forest fire throughout the park, the remains of which were clearly visible and shocking!
Because of it's reliability, one can be assured that you will never have to wait long to see Old Faithful erupt. This eruption is truly a spectacular sight, especially when at it's full height as shown here.
